Integrating evidence

Establishing the best evidence for healthcare is not the same thing as implementing best practice, although finding the best evidence does need to occur for best practice to follow. Some would argue that actually applying or integrating evidence with practice is the most important step, because there is little point in acquiring and appraising evidence if it never makes a difference to patients.

Although this is a UK focused paper, it addresses many of the generic issues associated with getting evidence into practice. Key principles for more successful implementation of evidence, Table 1, are particularly useful.
